Mad for Plaid? You aren’t alone. It’s not just for your preppy friends anymore.
Plaid is a staple. A must-have in everyone’s closet much like your favorite pair of jeans. It’s one of those things that never goes out of style. Plaid has it’s place, regardless of your fashion sense or fashion style, and rightfully so.
Let’s pause and ponder. What continues to reinvent itself season after season with new colors, designs and fabric options appealing to the masses? If your answer is plaid, congratulations, we are now instant friends!
With a gazillion and one ways to wear plaid, let’s focus on a few that perfect for any style.
1) You’ve heard the craze about blanket wraps or a.k.a. blanket scarves and wondered what all the fuss is about?
Well, try one on and you will quickly realize why it should be a staple in your closet.
Not only can it be used for the obvious (as a blanket), but it can also be worn as a knotted or infinity scarf, a simple shrug wrap around your shoulders, a stylish way to keep warm in your frigid (cold as a meat locker) office, or as a quick poncho pulled together with a skinny belt, just to name a few.
I love how adding a wrap can simply transform a basic tee and leggings, jeans or dress.
2) Create your own everyday plaid look by carrying a simple plaid clutch.
It does help that it actually holds your essentials! A plaid clutch is a versatile item that carries over from fall into winter and doesn’t break the bank, while still adding in a touch of plaid to your style.
You can even use it beyond the purposes for your typical clutch to carry your Kindle or iPad. And it works great for moms who need a quick, handy case for wipes and a diaper or two!
3) Ever wonder what exactly is the difference between a kimono and a wrap? You aren’t all alone here.
Think blanket wrap meets sleeves, they fall in love and make a kimono. Like a wrap, kimonos style well with leggings, jeans, or a simple dress and can elevate your overall outfit.
Turn it into a poncho by adding a skinny belt. And the waist length kimono is perfect for layering! Paired with an ankle boot or Hunter’s and you’re set!
4) Infinity Scarves are my favorite for indoor and outdoor wear during the winter and talk about numerous uses!
Tired of getting a scarf to stay put or stay tied? Double Loop scarves are perfect for a hood/scarf combination. You can wrap one loop and knot the second loop for a new style; wrap & twist, and double loop the scarf for added warmth during chilly winter months; or wear as a capelet around your shoulders while cheering on your favorite team in your school colors plaid!
Single loop scarves add less coverage, yet can add a punch of style to a basic striped or small polka dot shirt. Use as a head wrap, or simple knot tied for a neck warmer.
During the winter months, plaid brings out the feelings of comfort, coziness and ease. Soft, cozy, brushed cotton fabric is such an easy to add a touch of fun to any style. We created these pieces by hand to offer a simple, yet unique way to update your basic wardrobe style.
Worried you’ll get the style “wrong”? You’d don’t have to be! Plaid is perfect for those that are hesitant to add too much color to your wardrobe or adding prints.
You can’t go wrong when adding plaid accessories to your basic staples of jeans, leggings, neutrals, solids. And it’s perfect for those that love prints as well! Paired with a simple 2 colored stripe, polka-dots, or even another small patterned plaid, can up level your current pieces.
